An Improved Skiing Experience
Reduced numbers on the Slope - Key to ensuring that we can all respect social distancing will be a reduction in the capacity of the Snow Centre, with the main slope having no more than 60 skiers and boarders compared to the previous maximum of 140. This will provide an improved skiing experience with less queuing and fewer people using the slope at the same time.

Quality of the snow - Even though the Snow Centre has been closed the snow maintenance has continued and the snow has been allowed to ‘rest’ so it is now in perfect condition. With a reduced capacity the snow will also stay in great condition, ensuring a perfect surface for our skiing. There will not be any freestyle features, moguls or race courses set on the main slope, so we are guaranteed excellent skiing conditions when we return to the snow!

Booking terms and conditions for Group Clinics and Private lessons at The Snow Centre - Hemel Hempstead during COVID restrictions

Payment - All clinics and private lessons must be booked in advance and full payment made at the time of booking.

Ability level - All our Private coaching sessions in the UK require a minimum ability of Level 4 on our ability scale and our Extended Tune-Up Clinics the minimum level is 6. Sorry, but we do not teach beginners.

Cancellations - If you need to cancel and provide us with 24 hours notice you will be refunded in full. If you are feeling unwell on the day of your course please notify us by telephone by 8am and we will cancel your booking are will give you a shop credit that you can apply to a future course booking.


No shows - or cancellations after 8am on the day of your course are not refundable.

Delays - If you are delayed due to traffic, weather, etc. please text or call your coach Scott 07979 500964 or Rob 07515 396137‬ with your estimated time of arrival

If you are on a group clinic just meet us on the slope when you arrive, if you can't find us on the slope we will be in the coffee bar on a break.

If you are on a private lesson we are unable to delay your slope pass starting time but will ski with you up until your pass expires. We cannot offer partial refunds for missing time on your course.

Minimum Numbers - Should an Extended Tune-Up clinic have only one person booked on it we will run the course as an extended private session consisting of a 2 hour session on the slope followed by video review and optional practice time on your own afterwards. We find that with only one person two full one on one coaching sessions are too intense and counterproductive. Your slope pass will be remain valid for four hours and you can use the remaining time to practice and consolidate the mornings coaching on your own.

Equipment Hire- Skis, boots, poles and (helmets TBD) are included within your course fee but we STRONGLY suggest bringing your own equipment if you have it due to delays in fitting and sanitising. Ski jackets and trousers CANNOT be hired and you must bring your own clothing.

Juniors - We are sorry but we do not accept bookings from under-16s for our group clinic lessons. Please contact us to discuss options if you would like to make a family booking as we can arrange private lessons for a group of family members.
Slope Capacity and Start Times
Slope Capacity - Has reduced on main slope from 140 to 60 maximum. This is great news and will make your sessions much more enjoyable and productive.

Only 1 or 2 hour passes will be sold, no Monthly pass users will be on the slope nor any instructor training courses, free style furniture or race teams.

Poma Lifts have been re-spaced to ensure safe social distancing.

Start Times - The Snow Centre has implemented staggered 15 minute slope pass time slots to ease congestion at reception and rental.

Extended Tune - Up Clinics - Depending on slope capacity our Extended Tune -Up courses will start at 10:00, 10:15, 10:30 or 10:45. We will notify you of start time 24 hours in advance and the course will consist of 2 two hour slope sessions with a break. The Afternoon session will start at 1:00, 1:15, 1:30 or 1:45 again depending on availability.

Private Lessons - We will offer a Morning or Afternoon time slot when you book but the exact start time may vary but we will notify you in advance of actual start time.

Morning Sessions - Slope pass start time for your warm up will be 10:00, 10:15, 10:30 or 10:45 and you will meet your coach at the top of the slope 30 minutes after your slope pass start time.

Afternoon Sessions - 1:00, 1:15, 1:30 or 1:45 slope pass slots.

Arrival and Changing
Pass Collection - On private lessons we will email you with a reference number so you can collect your ski pass.

On the Slope
Social Distancing - Observing the 2m distancing is a key part of our plans to return to skiing. The Snow Centre have been working hard to ensure this, and you will notice plenty of changes:
- Greater distancing in the lift queue line and the distance between buttons on the drag lift
- Individual coaching feedback will be given from at least 2m distance, sometimes while you are riding uphill on the drag lift.
- From arriving at the Snow Centre to departing a new one-way system for moving around the building will be in place.

Face Covering/Masks - Based on current guidelines we do not anticipate face masks will be a requirement. You may chose to wear a face mask if you wish, but it will not be compulsory.

We would ask that you respect the procedures that the Snow Centre will be putting in place to ensure everyone stays at a safe distance.

Minimum Standard and Skiing in Control - Will be much more strictly enforced with a zero tolerance approach to skiers not being control asked to leave the slope.

Video Review
We will be offering video review with all our private lessons and group clinics. If capacity allows we will do this in the Cafe within the Centre. Should we not be able to do video review on the day we will set up a Zoom conference call with you at a time of your convenience. As always all your video clips will be uploaded to your personal video folder on our cloud storage system.
